Overseas Fisheries Industry Statistical Research

Purpose of investigation

The Overseas Fisheries Statistical Research program provides research analysis on production, exports, business administration, crew status per vessel and fish catching cost of fisheries companies. The research results are utilized as basic information to support overseas fisheries activities and to implement national overseas policy.

Research

The research is conducted from April to May of the following year and covers all the Korean distant water fishing businesses as well as all of the fishing vessels they own (around 40 companies with approximately 200 vessels).

Research Results

The research results are released every August and made available at OFIS, the Statistical System of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and Korean Statistical Information Service (KOSIS).
